Twitter in 2019 is still a great place to get traffic from and you can build a healthy following there and earn some website visitors on a continuous basis. In this post we will be discuss some simple tactics to grow your twitter account. The great thing about twitter is that is does not only support images and videos, but it also supports normal status updates. It is easier to share and to get lost in long threads  if you are consumer and it is also easy to search posts in the public domain.

Interaction is key with any social network and twitter is not different, so the following are some steps that you can follow to remain active and social as a business.

Get Active 

Step 1: The first thing you want to do is, of course, to open a twitter account if you do not have one. Preferably, open a separate account for your online business from your personal account. After opening an account you must make sure that all the details are filled in in your profile and son on. Your bio should be catchy and fun and in your link area you must place the link to your website.

Step 2: Now that you are set up it is important that you create some activity in your account so retweet some tweets from your niche that you like. Create a few status updates, some pictures and some videos throughout the first day (they must be related to your niche).

Step 3: After populating your account you can now start liking and commenting on people's statuses. Since you are not following anyone yet, the first time you can just either follow people in your niche or just search for posts relating to your niche. I recommend the latter. Do this everyday at least twenty times i.e. twenty likes and twenty comments. You can do less, it is up to you want you are looking for.

Step 4: In the previous post we spoke about you posting at least once a day on Instagram. You should do the same for twitter, but it is going to be a lot of work now posting both on twitter and on Instagram. Instead, you can you open an account on IFTTT and create an applet. An applet is just a built in IFTTT bot (there are many applets there) that allows you automate some things in social media with the goal of reducing the amount of things you must do when marketing. It can be very tedious posting to different social networks one by one.

The applet that you will create must allow you to post on Instagram only and let the bot post automatically to twitter. If you want to go ahead you can create a pinterest account and do the same for it, but it is better not get ahead of yourself.

Remember that you picture post must have hashtags and must also have wording in the picture itself. There must be a link to your post in the description before the hashtags and there be a link to your website in the picture. Make it look awesome!

Step 5: Build followers by following up to 100 people per day. Go to twitter profiles that are in your niche and follow their people, and usually they will follow you back. Find a bot online that will help you to automatically unfollow people who do not follow you back. Do this every two days. If you do this continuously and gradually your twitter account will grow bit by bit. I personally do not  recommend follower exchanges as those people will help with you having many followers, but they will not really be interested in your content.

There are bots out there available to help you with some of these processes. Some are free and some are paid. IFTTT has some that allow you to tweet whoever someone follows you and welcome them. You can add you website link to this process, while you are mentioning the new follower.

Limitations

Twitter allows you to only follow 30 people at a time per hour, so you will have to do this three times a day to reach the desired 100 follows.

Final Words

Building a social media following is like building a house. You just need to pluck away and you will wake up one day with a huge following. It is not an over night thing which is why you must be involved with a niche that you are interested in and not one that you think is the best, because even if it is the best there will be a challenge when you now have to persevere and make things happen eve when you see that they are not happening.
